Tutors at Glendale (TAG)
One Hour a Week
Can Make a Difference in the
Life of a Child
Tutors At Glendale (TAG) is a parent-run organization that matches volunteer tutors with students who could benefit from one-on-one attention during the school day. Now in its second year, TAG currently has a roster of 25 volunteers who provide 30 to 40 hours a week of tutoring at Glendale.
Joining TAG is easy and rewarding, and you can start any time.
TAG volunteers, most of whom are Glendale parents, commit to spend one hour a week (or more, if they chose) working with a child. TAG then matches each volunteer with a child and schedules tutoring sessions at a time that’s convenient for the tutor.
Volunteers need no special training or preparation, and instructions for each tutoring session are provided by the child’s teacher. Although the needs of students vary, volunteers generally spend their time reading aloud to students, helping students with basic math and reading skills, or helping children do library research for special projects.
If you have an hour a week and would like to make a positive difference in the life of a child, join TAG today!
